This is not really a good time for us to run a couples’ retreat.

We haven’t been able to find the perfect place to run it, that has exactly what we want. (But since locking it in, THE place has become available!!)

The time was really hard to pick, and what we came up with is not quite right, for a number of reasons.

Our family babysitters are going to be away, and we’re not sure what we’re going to do with our kids.

We’ve been sick heaps, and we’re worried about the extra strain organising it might have on our time and health.

We don’t have as much money to put into it as we’d like to.

I bet you’ve also got a list of really good reasons why now is not quite the right time to spend a weekend together
– there’s the kids,
– there’s the time off work,
– there’s the house,
– there’s the expense,
– there’s other plans,
– there’s the pets

We’re probably not the right people for you to work with. Maybe you know us too well, and it’s all too close and weird. Maybe you don’t know enough about us, and we might be totally cracked! Maybe we’re not qualified enough. Maybe we’re too “Christian”, maybe we’re not conservative enough.

And it’s definitely not the right time. It might be too late for you guys, or things aren’t quite that bad yet, or you’re happy enough, you don’t really need it, it’d just be nice some time.

You’re right. It’s not the right time. It never will be. And we agree, we’re probably not the right people to work with you.

So, just wondering if you’d like to come spend a weekend with us in June?

We’re celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary, and there’s nothing we’d rather do than spend it with couples who want to grow in their relationship!

We’re terrified and not quite organised, but taking a risk and running our first couples’ retreat on The King’s Birthday long weekend – June 5-8th!

Why should you come? Well, you just never know, maybe this will be the weekend that changes EVERYTHING for the two of you.

Where one of you takes a risk, and puts it all out on the line (that’s actually all it will take, just one of you, and everything changes). Where you finally understand what their problem is, where you connect on a level that you didn’t even know existed, where you kill that argument that just will not die!

Where you fall head over heals in love in a way that you never have or ever thought was possible, and feel safe for the first time in forever, and have no fear that things will never change or they will ever leave you again. Where you see God in your partner, in the places that before you thought was just sin and selfishness. Where you invite Him to move in your marriage in the most powerful way and breathe life and love back into it.

It’s not about the place, or the time, or the coaches. It’s about God, you and your relationship, and stripping back all that has gotten in the way over the years, to return to just the two of you, and God. Back to Eden. And the only person, place and time to do something about that is here, now and you.
